LUDOX® SK is a slightly acidic aqueous dispersion of 12 nanometer amorphous silica particles. It contains 25% silicon dioxide, a water soluble green strength polymer, defoamer, and wetting agent. LUDOX® SK is a complete binder formulation ideal for casting applications. LUDOX® SK is typically used as a binder for face coat slurries in precision investment casting. The surfactant in the formulation allows for excellent adhesion to wax molds. LUDOX® SK is free from sodium and as such is highly stable at extreme temperatures used in the casting process. It provides improved green strength and added durability to ceramic molds.
