Made with DOW PuraGuard™ Propylene Glycol USP/EP, monopropylene glycol with specially formulated packages of food grade industrial inhibitors that help prevent corrosion.
Regular DOWFROST™ inhibited propylene glycol (PG) DOWFROST™ is comprised of about 96% PG and 4% corrosion inhibitors. All ingredients are food safe, that is to say they are classified as GRAS (generally regarded as safe) by FDA and are approved as direct food additives. DOWFROST™ is the product of choice for the food processing industry. It is undyed and has water white appearance. DOWFROST™ offers effective heat transfer over a slightly narrower temperature range than DOWTHERM™ fluids: from 0 F to 250 F. The higher minimum recommended temperature for PG based fluids is because PG has higher viscosity and is more difficult to pump at low temperature. DOWFROST™ inhibited PG can provide freeze protection down to -60 F. DOWFROST™ is offered in various concentrations and package sizes. A 20% propylene glycol solution that is intended for geothermal heat pump systems.
A ready to use solution that contains specially designed corrosion inhibitors that meet ASTM D1384 corrosion protection requirements. The low glycol content provides lower viscosity and higher heat transfer efficiency. This fluid has a freezing point of 18.5°F. Recommended Use Temperature Range: -5ºC (23ºF) to 100ºC (212ºF) Typical Properties of DOWFROST GEO 20 Fluid: Composition (% by volume) Propylene Glycol – 20 Performance Additive + Water – 80 Color – Yellow to Green Specific Gravity – 1.017 - 1.027 25 / 25ºC (77 / 77 º F) pH of Solution – 9.5 - 10.5 Reserve Alkalinity (min.) – 3.5 ml Formulated for geothermal systems Intended for use in Geothermal heating and cooling systems
or beverage application.
A formulation of propylene glycol and a specially designed package of industrial corrosion inhibitors. The fluid is dyed fluorescent yellow to aid in leak detection. Not approved by the USDA or FDA for food use, and is not suitable for food...
DOWFROST™ HD inhibited propylene glycol (PG) is comprised of about 94% PG and 6% corrosion inhibitors. The lower PG content in DOWROST™ HD allows for additional corrosion inhibitors including some which are not approved by FDA as direct food additives. These additional components do not compromise toxicity fluid and provide an enhanced level of corrosion protection which is unsurpassed in the industry. DOWFROST™ HD has a fluorescent yellow color and is capable of operating at higher temperatures than regular DOWFROST™: from 0 F to 325 F. DOWFROST™ HD is intended for low toxicity, non-food processing applications and provides freeze protection down to -60 F. Dowfrost™ HD is offered is various concentrations and package sizes.
